Together, they’ve given $1,060 to support ECU students through the Students’ Treasure Chest and behind those numbers are students like the one whose words we’re sharing today.

Our goal is 75 Pirates by kickoff. That means we need 57 more people to raise their hands and give a hand up.

ECU Alumni is proud to recognize five outstanding Pirates whose achievements, leadership and service exemplify the lasting impact of East Carolina University.

On Friday, Oct. 9, we’ll come together to celebrate their accomplishments and contributions to ECU, their professions and their communities at the 2026 Alumni Awards Dinner. This dinner is open to the public. Registration pinned in the comments.

For some Pirates, move-in day felt a little familiar. 💜🏴‍☠️

The residence halls may look different. The technology certainly does. But for ECU alumni now watching their own children begin their college journeys, that unmistakable feeling of becoming a Pirate hasn’t changed.

From a daughter living next door to her mother’s former White Hall room to generations of Pirates continuing family traditions at ECU, these legacy families are creating new memories in places that already hold so many.
