Two East Carolina University researchers have received funding for a project that could lead to better quality of life for people living with chronic pain.

Drs. Sonja Bareiss and Kori Brewer were awarded a two-year, $300,000 grant by the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation to study the development and possible treatments of the debilitating pain that commonly occurs after a spinal cord injury.

An alumnus of the College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University was among the 38 state employees honored with a 2014 Governor's Award for Excellence.

Joe Finley, a dysphagia specialist who works at the O'Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center in Goldsboro, was one of three N.C. Department of Health and Human Services workers cited for providing excellent customer service. Read more on the ECU CAHS news page: http://www.ecu.edu/ah/news2.cfm
