Call Directions

The Ultrasound Program at Greenville Technical College provides free ultrasounds for pregnant patien FREE OB ULTRASOUNDS TO THE PUBLIC!

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at Greenville Technical College is offering free OB ultrasounds to the public. These ultrasounds are performed by students in the ultrasound lab under direct supervision. Pictures of the baby are provided at the end of the exam. Typically this is a fun and educational time for parents as they get to hear more about what sonographers do during an ultrasound, as well as, see their baby's growth. Exams take about one hour. Here are the new guidelines:
�Patients may bring only ONE guest with them to the appointment.
�NO CHILDREN will be allowed to accompany patients to the appointment.
�Patients and guests will be REQUIRED to wear a face mask while on GTC campus and during the entire exam. Face mask must be wore properly, covering the nose and mouth. Students and faculty will be wearing masks also.
�You must bring a PRINTED copy of a permission letter from your doctor stating that it is ok for you to participate in our educational OB scanning lab at Greenville Tech (required). Interested parents should note:

Scanning labs are for pregnant mothers between 22-30 weeks gestational age. Written approval from your primary OB physician is required and must reflect the patient's name to participate in the lab. Labs are for training purposes only and will in no way be a substitute for your official ultrasound examination ordered by your physician. A release form must be signed prior to scan. ✅ Patients may bring TWO guests with them to the appointment.
🚫NO CHILDREN will be allowed to accompany patients to the appointment.
✅ You must obtain a permission letter from your doctor stating that it is ok for you to participate in our educational OB scanning lab at Greenville Tech (required).
⚠️Please note, you cannot participate in our lab without this note from your doctor and sometimes this can be difficult to get so make sure you get it early! You must submit a digital copy to our administrative assistant by email prior to your appointment. ⚠️You will be turned away if we do not have your permission note on file prior to the start of your appointment.⚠️
Dates: Please remember that the labs are for educational purposes and we are only scheduling patients who will be 22-28 weeks pregnant at the time of the scan. Patients who are too far along (31 weeks or more), will not be able to participate in our labs.
Twins, triplets, etc:
OB labs are held for teaching purposes with student sonographers who have limited experience scanning OB patients. At this time, we are unable to book appointments for anyone pregnant with twins due to the HIGH level of skill required to scan multiple babies.
