Meet our VP of Member Development, Mckenna Merz! From strengthening our sisterhood to helping every member feel at home in ADPi, she plays a huge part in making our chapter what it is. We’re so lucky to love her! 🩵
Hometown: Kensington, Maryland
Major: Politics & International Affairs
“As a freshman, I did not plan to go through formal recruitment. However, in my first few months at Furman I could tell that Greek life was different here. From the first day of recruitment, I could tell that Alpha Delta Pi was filled with driven, confident, genuine girls who I could call sisters. Since then, Eta Phi has given me a place to call home and become the woman I want to be. From daily study sessions in the library and laughs at Scrips and Dips to hugs when I need them most, this sisterhood consistently brightens my college experience and pushes me to be the best version of myself.
When I was selected to serve as Vice President of Member Development as a sophomore, I was both honored and intimidated. But I knew then what remains now, that my goal in this role is to make sure every member knows that they matter and build a safe space for everyone to flourish. To be trustworthy without exception. To be intentional, not perfect. To lead by example. It has been an absolute privilege to serve in this way and I hardly recognize the girl who took on this role ten months ago. I have developed skills that I will utilize for the rest of my life and could not be more grateful for the support and lifelong relationships that Eta Phi has given me.
Love,
Mckenna”
