We believe taking time to reconnect makes us better at what we do.

Our annual retreat gives us a chance to step away from the bustle of the day-to-day, so we can recharge, learn something new together, and come back inspired to support our students and the Furman community.

This year, that meant making art and exploring new mediums. 10/10 would retreat again! 🎨🖌️🖼️

Happy Independence Day from Furman Libraries🇺🇸

06/29/2026

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome students from Bridges to a Brighter Future to the Furman Libraries! During their time with us, students explored the many ways libraries support learning, creativity, and community through hands-on activities and conversations with our librarians. Thank you to the Bridges team and students for spending part of your summer with us. We loved having you here and look forward to seeing all the amazing things these students accomplish in the future! 🫶🌟

Thank you to all the students who participated in yesterday’s Juneteenth CLP!

As Dr. Robinson said, libraries are places of resistance, holding stories that allow us to learn from history. We use this day to reflect on the effort and resilience of those who came before us and consider how we can carry their work forward.
