Dozens of music and Alford friends, family, and supporters joined us to honor Charles. It was a joyous occasion as Summer Band and Orchestra Camp families streamed through the building that afternoon.

We are glad his wife, Hilda, could join us, along with his children, grandchildren and others. We are glad for the music performed for the occasion. And we are glad to provide multiple generations the chance to experience musical passion and growth through ECU. 💜

Some legacies are heard for generations. 🎶

Charles Stephen Alford helped support generations of musicians through the ECU School of Music's jazz program. His legacy continues with a dedicated rehearsal room and scholarship for future .
