Dear Grinnell Christian Community,



As we journey through what some have called ‘the Lentiest Lent,’ I am aware we suffer isolation and loss in so many ways in these COVID-centered days.

In the midst of our separation as community, may we find ways to gather and remember traditions and beliefs we share.

I have been grateful for connection and re-connection with beloved friends and family and the strengthening of relationships recent, and those of many years or a lifetime.



I am also thankful that no one has told the cedar waxwings, robins, crocus, daffodils, squirrels and so many more signs of life and new beginnings—resurrection-- that there is a virus.



I continue to be moved by these miracles of this earth and creation. May we each find our own ways to “reach out” to help others and ourselves in the ways we are able to now and those ways that become available in the weeks and months to come in doing the work of Jesus as disciples in this realm.



God’s abiding love and peace to us all,
