Finals are stressful but praying is not! Though caffeine is certainly warranted this time of year, take a study break and ask God for strength to get through your exams.

Newman Club had our last meeting of the semester yesterday evening! Our members came together for one last celebration before finals begin.

We prayed the Rosary, held Officer elections, looked through old Club photo albums, and played an intense game of Catholic Jeopardy. The latter event was especially exciting, as the team in last ended up in 1st place after Final Jeopardy!

After enjoying the sunset, many members stayed for Night Prayer and snapped a photo in front of Khush's bench.

While Ash Wednesday is not a Holy Day of Obligation, it is still a good opportunity to attend Mass. Here are the Mass times for the local churches!

But this part is mandatory: Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and abstaining from meat! Say a prayer and offer your suffering up to God if you feel tempted to break the fast.

During yesterday's meeting, VP Alex Fix led the group in Lectio Divina. The passage chosen describes the devil tempting Jesus in the desert...it's no surprise who won this battle of the will!

Lent begins in one week. What are we willing to sacrifice for 40 days? How will we work on deepening our relationship with God? We invite you to participate in this Lectio Divina as well - what is God revealing to you during this time?

Newman Club’s September photo dump!
September was a month filled with faith, prayer and fellowship; we’re off to a strong start! Our club officer presentations focused on living out and understanding the Catholic faith, beginning with a Catechism crash course, on to a Christian wellness talk, and ending with an introduction to Catholic Apologetics. Students spent time in prayer amidst Christ’s presence during 24-hour adoration, baking cookies (for further fellowship) afterward to celebrate! Throughout the month, members got the opportunity to take trips down to Pittsburgh to attend the Traditional Latin Mass, experiencing a beautiful, timeless liturgy. Overall, we are grateful for all that God has given us to help us continue to develop a strong, Catholic community on campus. “Get used to lifting your heart to God, in acts of thanksgiving, many times a day.
