“This is my home office/yoga practice spot. This is where I like to spend many late nights- studying for exams, putting the finishing touches on a research paper, or working on a school project.

When I feel like I need a study break, I have my yoga mat to stretch out and do a meditation practice. I think moving our bodies is really important for staying focused.

When we harbor stress, it makes it difficult to stay on task. Thats why I love my study studio- because there’s no need to leave the house to get a little down dog in. Namaste!”

“ADC is enabling me to complete my bachelor’s degree and advance my teaching career while still working full-time as an elementary school interventionist and raising my two children as a single parent. I often work on my course materials in my office during my downtime or after work, where I can concentrate without being distracted at home by the numerous chores that tend to lead to procrastination, even if it means staying a few extra hours at my workplace! Here is my cozy office, filled with art, light, music, (often) children, and a deep passion for teaching. It’s a reflection of ME! My office inspires me to stay focused, work hard, and persevere while engaging with students throughout the day, and it provides a quiet sanctuary and a safe space to study for college.”

Western’s ADC program gave Catherine the flexibility to earn her bachelor’s degree entirely online—balancing full-time work, family life, and travel. Here’s what she had to say:

“The ADC program has been such a blessing for me as it has allowed me to complete my degree from absolutely anywhere. The flexibility and ease of working completely online has made it manageable for me to return to school as an adult with two kids and a full time job.

I was able to complete assignments from the comfort of my own home but also on the road or anywhere I had enough WiFi or cellular service to upload a completed assignment.

Sometimes when I knew that I would be without service I would just download the assignment I needed to work on and would complete it offline then upload it when I was back in cell service.

This program opened doors for me that wouldn't have been possible otherwise and I am so grateful for the opportunity to complete my Bachelor's degree in a way that worked best for me.”
