Are you a stranded Americorps volunteer? Were you just let go from an existing position or one that was about to start? We got you.
The Western Colorado University Master in Environmental Management
(MEM) program has, for several years now, matched Americorps education awards with tuition-reduction fellowships. Our ability to do so has fluctuated from year to year, but our respect and admiration for everyone who takes on service-oriented work has remained constant. In fact, we ourselves have benefited from hosting several Americorps volunteers over the years. Americorps has been a crucial bridge to meaningful work experience for thousands, and has a made a huge and overwhelmingly positive impact on the resilience of communities and ecosystems across the nation.
Our team in the Clark Family School of Environment and Sustainability is scrambling to bring funds together to support stranded Americorps volunteers who are interested in joining the MEM program, either here in the Colorado Rockies or anywhere in the world, even if your service didn't get a chance to start. We can help you get work experience while you get your degree. Pursue any number of topics (e.g., ecosystem restoration, food systems, green building, community planning, etc.) and join an incredible community of students and alumni doing expert, effective work for our planet.
