If you haven’t already, check out the schedule here! This is the orientation schedule for first-year students. Your orientation leaders and print schedule will explain block programming, the available evening activities, and dining hours at Rare Air Cafe.

Transfer & Nontraditional Student Orientation takes place on Friday.

What started as volunteering to help collect exoplanet data in Gunnison has turned into an incredible opportunity for Western students Jacob Magoun and Justin Mills.

This summer, they’re participating in a NASA-led internship, working alongside astrophysicists, analyzing data from NASA’s TESS mission, and contributing to research that could lead to a published scientific paper. They’re also developing independent projects that support exoplanet research and the broader astronomy community.

Congrats to Jacob, Justin, Dr. Suzanne Taylor, and everyone who helped make this opportunity possible.

Help us cheer on Dr. Gary P. Van Guilder as he tackles the homestretch of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route!

Stretching more than 2,700 miles from Banff, Alberta, to Antelope Wells, New Mexico, the route follows the Continental Divide through rugged wilderness, remote singletrack, grizzly bear country, and arid desert landscapes. On this journey, Gary will climb over 200,000 total feet of elevation.

Gary is riding to raise scholarship funds for AESP graduate students facing financial hardship, helping future professionals pursue their education and career goals.
