This tradition celebrates students’ journeys to GMercyU. They learn of the Sisters of Mercy arrival to Philadelphia on a hot August day 165 years ago. 

Just as new students may experience apprehension starting their college journeys, the Sisters may have felt similarly in a new country but they had faith knowing they were exactly where they were supposed to be.

As you begin your time as a GMercyU student, have faith, just like those Sisters did, that you are right where you’re supposed to be — at GMercyU, following your path.
