The 2026-2027 4-H year is here, and we’re excited to welcome our 4-H members, families, and volunteers back for another great year!

🗓️ Re-enrollment is September 1-January 1.

Simply log into your 4-H account, review and update your information, and complete your re-enrollment.

🐖🐐🐄 Calhoun County Fair Old Timer’s Showmanship 🐄🐐🐖

Think you’ve still got what it takes in the show ring? Or maybe you know someone who needs to prove it? Don’t miss this year’s Old Timer’s Showmanship Contest!

📅 Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2026
⏰ Time: Following the Calhoun County Livestock Show at 6:00 PM

Entry Fees:
- $10 to nominate yourself or someone you know.
- Don’t want to show? Pay $20 to cancel your nomination!
- Pay $50 for a non-cancelable nomination. (No backing out!)

Livestock: All nominees must use livestock borrowed from a current exhibitor, and the exhibitor must give approval before the animal can be shown.

Proceeds: Proceeds will benefit the Calhoun County Fair Livestock Show.

Join us for the 2026 Calhoun County Fair Livestock Show on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Sammy Tucker Livestock Barn on the Calhoun County Fairgrounds.

🕕 Show Begins at 6:00 P.M.

Come support our hardworking 4-H and FFA members as they proudly showcase their livestock projects and the dedication, responsibility, and skills they have developed throughout the year.

🍂 September Forage Guide 🍂
A hint of Fall - maybe?
September an important month for planning your forages. Here are a few key reminders:

🌾Plant: Annual ryegrass, orchardgrass, tall fescue, timothy, alfalfa, sorghum sudangrass, pearl millet, browntop millet, corn, and small grains.

🚜Spray: Apply brush control herbicides, treat summer perennial broadleaf weeds, and spray pre-emergence by mid-September for ryegrass control.

🐂Harvest & Graze: Start your stockpile plan and remember, you should be grazing almost everything this time of year!
