Final Hanover College Athletic Hall of Fame Spotlight: Jim Spencer ’75

A four-year starter at offensive guard, Spencer was an all-Hoosier-Buckeye Collegiate Conference honoree and two-time team captain. He helped lead the Panthers to consecutive conference titles and an NAIA national playoff appearance.

Following the 1974 season, Spencer became—and remains—the only offensive lineman in Hanover football history to be named the team’s most valuable player.

Hanover College Athletic Hall of Fame Spotlight: Micah Shrewsberry ’99

A four-year guard for the Panthers, Shrewsberry has coached at the collegiate, professional and international levels during a remarkable three-decade career. He currently serves as the University of Notre Dame’s men’s basketball head coach, previously led programs at Penn State and IU South Bend, and spent six seasons on the Boston Celtics’ coaching staff.

Shrewsberry has also helped USA Basketball win gold medals at the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup and 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup.

Join us September 5 as we honor Shrewsberry and seven fellow members of the 2026 Hanover College Athletic Hall of Fame class.

Hanover College Athletic Hall of Fame Spotlight: Michael Rivera ’95

A three-time all-conference selection, Rivera was named Hanover’s 1995 Outstanding Senior Athlete and became the first Panther to compete at the NAIA National Track and Field Championship. He continues to hold College records in the indoor 1,000 meters and 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Athletic Hall of Fame Spotlight: Ernest “Skip” Lichtfuss Jr.

A National Lacrosse Hall of Fame member, Lichtfuss founded Hanover’s men’s lacrosse program and earned conference Coach of the Year honors twice. His remarkable career also included involvement with every USA Men’s National Team from 1978–2023.

Athletic Hall of Fame Honoree Spotlight: Ben Fox ’96!

An all-American wingback and two-time all-conference selection, Ben helped lead Hanover football to its first 10-win season and NCAA playoff appearance in 1995. That fall, he led NCAA Division III with 95 receptions, 1,087 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.

Join us Sept. 5 as we celebrate Ben and seven other outstanding inductees into the Hanover College Athletic Hall of Fame!
