CCNY Latino Alumni Group The Latino Affiliate Group of the City College Alumni Association. Our mission is to Recognize, celebrate and honor Latino achievements from CCNY.

The Latino Alumni Group was founded in 1993 is currently the largest minority group at City College. Our mission is to Recognize, celebrate and honor Latino achievements from CCNY while also promoting the Latino Culture with activities and Social events. Join us for food, drinks, music, and award presentations with special guest honorees. There are two Simón Bolívar Award recipients this year, former educator and now philanthropist Yolanda S. Escollies ’65, ’80; and CUNY Chancellor Felix V. Matos Rodriguez. Join us as we recognize Alumni and Community Leaders. All net proceeds will benefit the Latino Alumni Group Scholarship Fund.

This Year we will Honor the following individuals:

Jorge. B Merced, CCNY '05 - Simon Bolivar Career Achievment Award. Acclaimed Performing artist and Associate Artistic Director of Pregones/ Puerto Rican Traveling Theater. Jorge has been a leader and a trailblazer in the arts. Breaking barriers has been a hallmark of the significant career.

Jacqueline Rodriguez, CCNY '10 - Rising Star Awardee. Noted educator and professional school administrator within the largest school district, NYC. In her time since CCNY Jackie has demonstrated passion and commitment as an educator. Her didcation to our children is indicative of a promising future.

Christopher Villaverde, CCNY '14 - Rising Star Awardee. Decorated Military Officer and Law Enforcement Officer. Christopher has been a volunteer and served the community since he was a youth. A product of NYC Public Schools Christopher Enlisited in the US Coast Guard Reserve out of High School and later joined the NYPD serving in the Bronx and Headquarters.
