We are incredibly proud of our UTRGV School of Podiatric Medicine students who participated in the Manuscript Competition and Poster Competition! 👏🏽

A huge congratulations to every student who took the initiative to submit and present their research. Your dedication to advancing podiatric medicine, contributing to the scientific community, and growing as future physicians and researchers does not go unnoticed.

We are also extremely grateful to the faculty mentors who dedicate their time, knowledge, and guidance to supporting our students throughout the research process. Your mentorship plays an invaluable role in developing the next generation of clinicians, researchers, and leaders. 🩺🔬

🩺 From the classroom to the OR — putting surgical skills into practice! 🦶

Our third-year podiatric medical students recently had the opportunity to strengthen their OR skills while simulating a hallux amputation under the guidance of Dr. Agarwal, Dr. Heybeck, Dr. Campbell, and Dr. Prins.

As our third-year students continue their clinical rotations and prepare for externships next fall, hands-on experiences like this are essential for building surgical technique, confidence, teamwork, and readiness for the operating room.

We are incredibly grateful to our faculty for dedicating their time and expertise to creating such a well-thought-out, interactive lab for our students. Their mentorship plays an invaluable role in preparing the next generation of podiatric physicians.

We look forward to many more hands-on learning opportunities that help our students grow into skilled, confident, and compassionate future physicians! 🥼🦶✨

SGA hosted a fun-filled bowling night at Creasy’s, giving our students a well-deserved break from studying! 📚 It was the perfect way to unwind, relieve some stress, and kick off the weekend with some friendly competition and good company.

🏆🐾 HOUSE INDUCTION: OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY! 🐾🏆

What an incredible start to a new SOPM tradition! Our students were officially welcomed into one of four Valley-inspired houses: 🦔 Armadillo, 🐆 Ocelot, 🐍 Rattlesnake, or 🦅 Hawk!

We’re excited to see these houses bring together students from different cohorts, creating new friendships, camaraderie, and a little friendly competition along the way!

The first competition was Trivia Night, and congratulations to the 🐆 Ocelots for taking home the win! 🎉🏆

This is only the beginning—we can’t wait for more competitions, events, and memories to come! Let the House Games begin! 🔥🐾
