Today is the start of Asian American/ Pacific Islander Heritage Week. Usually this is celebrated throughout the entire month of May, but because students will leave the first week of may, we decided to dedicate this week to celebrate.
This week will be about celebrating those who are from ALL of Asia and the Pacific Islands and defeating stereotyping about what someone who is ‘Asian’ should look like because all their different cultures are NOT unified.

Not all disabilities are visible and the ones that are are important as well. As a community, it is important that we understand the disabilities of others so that we can improve the accessibility of everything on our campus.

Beginning in 2009, Transgender Day of Visibility (TDoV) has aimed to celebrate the transgender and the gender non-conforming community in all its glory. Rachel Crandall, a psychotherapist based in Michigan, sought to create a day that would recognize not only the brave trailblazers of the transgender community, yet those who are living representation. The day recognizes the accomplishments of the transgender and gender non-conforming people as well as gardening attention to their struggles. Today please take the time to either celebrate or educate yourself on this persevering community.
