Nicaraguan Orphan Fund at JMU Nicaraguan Orphan Fund is a student run organization at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

We work with a local orphanage as well as various feeding centers around Managua, Nicaragua. Our goal is to raise awareness of the extreme poverty in NicaraguaThe goal is to not dwell on the suffering the people endure but rather to demonstrate how individuals can play an essential and very tangible role in bringing hope to their lives through compassion. Be a part of a life changing experience, simply by becoming aware of the countries situation or donating your time to a great cause.

General information

Of the 5.6 million people in Nicaragua, 48% live in poverty, where two small meals a day of rice and beans are standard and nearly half of the country has no access to drinking water...JMU looks to CHANGE these statistics and help Nicaragua in any way we can!
