The Graduate School offers more than 60 graduate programs at the master’s, educational specialist, and doctoral levels. JMU has a graduate enrollment of over 1,800 students and includes programs in the following areas:

ommunication and Advocacy (M.A.), Communication Sciences and Disorders (M.S., Au.D., Ph.D.), Computer Science (M.S.), Education (M.A.T & M.Ed.), English (M.A., Exceptional Education (M.A.T & M.Ed.), Health Sciences (M.S.), History (M.A.), Integrated Science and Technology (M.S.), Kinesiology (M.A.T., M.S)., Mathematics (M.E.d.), Music (M.M., D.M.A.), Nursing (M.S.N., D.N.P.), Occupational Therapy (M.O.T.), Physician Assistant Studies (M.P.A.S.), Political Science (M.A.), Psychology (Psy.D., Ph.D., M.A., Ed.S., M.Ed.), Psychological Sciences (M.A.), Public Administration (M.P.A.), Strategic Leadership (Ph.D.), and Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication (M.A., M.S.). In addition to programs offered on-campus, a number of our programs offer distance-learning opportunities. James Madison University’s leadership in international programming also extends to The Graduate School, with graduate programs in Florence, Italy (Political Science, European Union Policy Studies) and Malta (M.S., Sustainable Environmental Research Management), as well as short-term study abroad opportunities in various programs.
