Our final student of the 2025-2026 Academic Year is Jack Scott!

Jack is a senior at James Madison University pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing with a concentration in Professional Sales. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, he is set to graduate this May. Jack is a motivated and driven student with a strong interest in relationship-building, leadership, and sales.

During his time at JMU, Jack has maintained a strong academic record, earning Dean’s List honors in his last two semesters. He has been highly involved in student life, currently serving as an Event Operations Manager at the Student Success Center. In this role, he has developed his leadership and communication skills by mentoring fellow student employees, managing daily operations, and building meaningful relationships across campus.

Jack is also an active member of JMU Club Basketball, where he has taken on a leadership role as the team prepares to compete in nationals. In addition, he is a member of the business fraternity Phi Gamma Nu, where he has continued to grow both personally and professionally through networking, professional development, and collaboration with peers.

This past summer, Jack interned with Cintas in their First Aid & Safety division, where he gained hands-on experience in sales and client engagement. He shadowed service representatives in the field, observing how they communicate with decision-makers and deliver value-driven solutions. Jack was also integrated into the branch’s leadership environment, learning directly from managers about operations and strategy. As part of his capstone project, he conducted cold outreach to former customers, promoting a CPR certification open house initiative. This effort helped generate additional revenue for the branch while strengthening his prospecting, communication, and business development skills.

Jack’s combination of leadership experience, academic achievement, and professional development has prepared him well for a future career in sales. He looks forward to continuing to grow his skills and making a meaningful impact in his post-graduate career.

This week’s student is Evan Worrell!

Evan is a senior at James Madison University, majoring in Marketing with a concentration in Digital Marketing and a minor in Sports Communication, expected to graduate in Spring 2026. Originally from Downingtown, PA, he has a strong interest in digital marketing, content creation, and audience engagement, with a particular passion for applying these skills in the sports industry.

In addition to content creation, Evan serves as the Social Media Manager and Partnership & Advertising Sales Manager for JMU Sports News. In these roles, he develops and executes social media strategies to grow audience engagement and manages advertising partnerships to support the outlet’s growth. He coordinates sales campaigns, pitches to local businesses, and creates marketing materials to highlight sponsorship opportunities. All while maintaining the outlet’s independence, as JMU Sports News is not affiliated with JMU Athletics.

Throughout his time at JMU, Evan has completed a variety of projects that showcase his digital marketing and design skills. These include an Integrated Marketing Campaign for White Oak Lavender Farm, where he learned to develop and execute a full-scale marketing plan from research to implementation; a consumer behavior project centered around the conversation of NIL, which taught him to analyze consumer insights and apply them to strategic decision-making; and the development of an in-depth Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign portfolio, where he honed his technical design skills and learned to produce visually compelling marketing materials. He also earned certifications in all three Adobe platforms, demonstrating both technical proficiency and creativity in visual content creation.

Outside of JMU, he has gained hands-on professional experience through internships, including NBC Sports Philadelphia, where he supported newsroom production and digital content initiatives for Phillies games and the announcement of the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. Additionally, as a Ticket Sales and Sponsorship Intern with the Reading Royals, Evan combined marketing strategy and digital promotion to sell group experiences and community-focused campaigns.

Beyond his internships, Evan hosts the Philadelphia sports podcast, Broad Street Boys, where he uses digital platforms to reach audiences, analyze trends, and produce engaging multimedia content. His combined experience in digital content, social media strategy, and marketing analytics has shaped his goal of pursuing a career in digital marketing, with a focus on creating innovative campaigns and strategies that resonate with audiences both in sports and broader industries.

Evan is excited to dive into any opportunity within digital marketing or sports marketing, where he can use his skills in content creation, social media strategy, and campaign ex*****on. Whether it’s growing audiences, building engaging campaigns, or bringing fresh ideas to the table, he’s ready to make an impact.
