Over the last two weeks, Dr. Luchysnky has been preparing students for their upcoming Level II Fieldwork rotations, as they completed their pre professional phase coursework. What an exciting milestone! 🙌🏻

Sophia Duncan, '23, '26 ODT, is a rising leader in occupational therapy through her impactful research connecting oncology and patient care.

“Cancer survivorship is increasing rapidly,” said Duncan, who earned her Doctor of Occupational Therapy last week. “With that survivorship comes people left with physical, emotional and psychosocial deficits that occupational therapists can help to treat.”

Today we celebrated 17 incredible SRU OTD students at our annual Poster & Pinning Ceremony! 🎉

Students proudly disseminated their capstone projects alongside mentors, family, and friends while reflecting on the dedication, growth, and perseverance that brought them to this milestone. We were honored to recognize each student as they completed their 3-year program and prepare for the next exciting chapter ahead.

Next stop: Graduation! 🎓💚

Feeling inspired at the Annual AOTA Inspire Conference in Anaheim California 🌟

A few highlights: Dr. Gault and her colleague lead an engaging short course for over 300 OT students focusing on setting them up for graduation success. They shared practical tips and strategies for building strong resumes developing professional portfolios and mastering the interview process.

They also showcased their research at the poster session highlighting the powerful impact of mock interviewing on employment success. Such meaningful work that is making a real difference 👏

It was also wonderful to see fellow OT faculty representing SRU’s OTD program including Dr. Hilliard. It was also great connecting with current students and alumni who were taking in the conference learning and gaining inspiration.

Moments like these remind us of the strength and passion within the OT community. Way to go everyone 💚🤍
