A rare piece of history, hiding in plain sight at Trinity for more than a century. 🔎

A 15th-century printed page discovered in the Watkinson Library has been identified as a previously unrecorded work connected to associates of Johannes Gutenberg, offering new possibilities for understanding the earliest days of European printing.

The discovery began when a student working on an inventory of the collection flagged an unusual scrapbook for a closer look.

A page of 15th century text—hidden for more than 100 years in an uncatalogued scrapbook in the Watkinson’s archives—has connections to famed printer Johannes Gutenberg and may represent one of the earliest generations of European printing.

A new chapter is underway for Trinity Athletics. 🤺

Please join us in welcoming David Sach, who has been named the College’s inaugural Director of Fencing!

Sach brings extensive coaching and international fencing experience to the Bantams, including launching Wheaton College’s varsity men’s and women’s fencing programs and leading Tufts to a share of the 2023 Northeast Fencing Conference Championship.

He’ll lead the development of Trinity’s new men’s and women’s fencing programs, with women’s fencing set to begin varsity competition in 2027-28 and men’s fencing following in 2028-29.

We’re excited to welcome Coach Sach to the community and look forward to seeing this new chapter take shape.
