Texas Cedarwood is one of my favorites; this may or may not have been the best day to work with it.
The Smoky essence of the essential oil makes it hard to tell whether I'm smelling the pollutants outside or the plant's healing properties. It's Mind-Bending.
Texas Cedarwood essential oil has a smoky scent because it is distilled from the heartwood of the Juniperus ashei (or mexicana) tree, which thrives in arid, limestone-rich soils. This rugged environment, combined with the natural sesquiterpene chemistry of the wood, produces an oil with a notably deeper, more resinous and tar-like aroma than other cedarwood varieties.
