Thanks to everyone who attended our School District Partner Appreciation Dinner at Coker University’s Drengaelen House. Strong educator preparation begins with strong partnerships. Our recent SCTS 4.0 Expanded ADEPT Training for the Cooperating Teachers who support our Coker students was certainly well-attended! We ❤️our school district partners! A big thank you to University Supervisors Julie Mahn and Janice Kiser for facilitating the training.

Professor Miller brings an incredible 30 years of experience with Darlington County School District to our students and programs. Today we kicked off the first day of classes at the Wiggins School of Education! We are excited to welcome our new and returning students as we begin another year of learning, growing, and preparing the next generation of educators. ❤️

Coker APEC Cohort 3 gathered on Saturday to begin Dr. Candy Hoffman’s hybrid class, EDU 646: Foundations of Reading, which also meets synchronously online each week. Prof. Julie Mahn leads EDU 636,the weekly APEC Seminar as well. We wish these Fellows well as they complete graduate-level coursework and a year-long residency in classrooms across Darlington, Kershaw, Dillon 3, Dillon 4 and Marion County school districts.

Congratulations to Shelby Humphries Smith who began her first day of student teaching at McBee Elementary School in Chesterfield County School District today! Mrs. Smith’s cooperating teacher is Mrs. Jaclyn Tiller. Mrs. Krissi Butler is the school principal. We so appreciate our school partners!
