⭐️ This week’s senior is Cross Cultural Business Management major, Kennedy Hughes! ⭐️

Q: What is your favorite scripture?
A: “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” ~Psalm 37:3-5

Q: What do you hope for in the next 5 year? What about the next 50 years?
A: In the next 5 years I see myself serving at my church here in Hattiesburg while Isaac (my soon-to-be husband) and I finish up seminary and discern where He is leading. Hopefully in 50 years, we will have a home where we will be able to invite future college kids into and continue the legacy of kingdom growth in Hattiesburg.

Q: What is one memory from the Cooper School you will never forget?
A: One lesson and memory from the Cooper School that I will never forget was under Dr. Glaze's teaching. His point was one that did not tie directly to the lesson but to life. He said "Practice does not make perfect. Practice makes permanent." This encouraged me to practice good things so much that they become an integral part of my life and to be weary of practicing things that I don't want to stick around.

Q: Which class was the most impactful for you?
A: The class that has impacted me the most was "Women in Ministry” with Ms. Clark. This class not only gave modern-day, practical applications of how women can and should be active in Kingdom work but also opened my eyes to many brave women who came before us (between the time of scripture and now) and who faithfully stood in the face of persecution and discrimination.

Micah Hatfield is a sophomore Psychology major at William Carey! Micah had the opportunity to serve in Southern Thailand over the summer, partnering with an organization that uses events to teach the local population English as a second language. Micah and his team utilized these events to build deeper relationships with those who attended. Micah cherished the authenticity of every relationship and conversation he had. He and the local church also had the opportunity to celebrate the salvation of a student they met! In reflection of the summer, Micah declares that he was blessed to see “a glimpse of how God is working in every corner of the world.”

⭐️ This week’s senior is Christian Studies major, Carrie Burge! ⭐️

Q: What is your favorite scripture?
A: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” ~Joshua 1:9

Q: Where do you hope to be in the next 5 years?
A: In the next five years I see myself serving in a church... hopefully encouraging youth in their faith and cultivating discipleship.

Q: Who is one person in the Cooper School you will never forget?
A: One person in the Cooper school I will never forget is Dr. Caldwell. My junior year I decided to study Hebrew, and I thought I’d never get through it, but he encouraged me and helped me until the very end!

Q: Which class was the most impactful for you?
A: The class that was most impactful for me was "Christian Preaching and Teaching." I really grew in my confidence for sharing the gospel with others, and it taught me other approaches that people use to share the gospel and the Word of God.

This week's missionary spotlight is Danilo Pozo Mexino, a double major in Math and Forensic Science at William Carey. Danilo served in South Asia this summer alongside a group of local believers in the region. He and his team trekked the Himalayas to share the gospel to remote villages and to encourage and disciple the local churches. Danilo’s favorite part of the summer was witnessing the local believers’ desire to see their country reached by the Gospel of Christ regardless of the cost. Danilo also enjoyed experiencing the love and power of God through the beauty of the nature surrounding him.

Everyone has a favorite passage, parable, or even book of the Bible, one that we’ve studied time and time again but never gets old. Yet 2 Timothy 3 reminds us that the ENTIRETY of Scripture, not just certain passages, is profitable, useful, beneficial, and actively helpful for our everyday lives. Let us be made complete and become equipped as we rest in and study the Word of the Lord!
