The 2015 Understanding Korea Essay Contest
2015『내가 한국바로알리기의 주인공』에세이 공모전

The Center for International Affair at AKS is the home of the Understanding Korea Project, which seeks to correct inaccurate information on and improve contents about Korea in foreign textbooks. We are pleased to announce the 2015 Understanding Korea Essay competition, aimed at promoting interest in Korea-related contents in foreign textbooks and Understanding Korea materials. Please note the following guidelines.

○ Improve the image of Korea in foreign countries
○ Improve the understanding of Korea; expand the base of the project
○ Establish healthy image of Korea in the world

The University of Southern Mississippi Police Department (UPD) can store bicycles used by students, faculty and staff on the Hattiesburg campus during the summer break.

The drop-off period is April 20 - May 07, 2015 from 9 - 11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. at the UPD offices in Bond Hall, located next to the parking garage.

To prevent damage or theft during the summer break, any bikes left on bike racks after Monday, May 11, 2015 will be picked up and stored at UPD offices.

Cook Library 공지

The Learning Commons of Cook Library will begin 24-hour operations December 1 at 12 a.m. and will extend through December 4 and from December 8 at 12 a.m. through December 10. The 24-hour access will allow students extended hours to prepare for final exams.

The remaining areas of Cook Library will operate under the following schedule:

Monday through Friday, December 1-4 – 7 a.m. to midnight
(Learning Commons open 24 hours)
Friday, December 5 – 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
(Learning Commons open until 9 p.m.)
Saturday, December 6 – 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday, December 7 – noon to midnight
Monday through Wednesday, December 8-10 – 7 a.m. to midnight
(Learning Commons open 24 hours)
Thursday, December 11 – 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday, December 12 – 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, December 13-14 – 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Additional recycling and trash bins will be placed in the Learning Commons during the extended hours. Students are asked to assist Library staff by making sure their study area is clean when they leave.
