Qualifications
1. Master's degree preferred in Social/Behavioral Science or Administration. Bachelor's degree in Human Services related field and three years of experience working in residential living or seven years of residential experience.
2.Must be available to work flexible shifts and weekends as needed
3. Strong work ethic, sense of responsibilty and commitment to excellence in education
4. Professional attitude
5. Cheerful and pleasing personality
6. Certification in First Aid and CPR
Knowledge, skills and Abilities
1. Demonstrate ability to work with adolescents
2. Ability to supervise staff and demonstrate the capacity to build teams
3. Ability to properly train and effectively supervise, delegate and monitor the work habits of employees and students.
4. Ability to work independently and develop student-focused programs, i.e. life skills programs and schedule activities within the Residence Hall
5. Abilitiy to meet with the staff and students on a regular and consistent basis for programs, planning and policy implementation
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate orally and prepare thoroughly written correspondence
7. Strong organizational and human relation skills
8. Ability to perform other duties as required
9. Good disciplinary skills
10. Computer literate preferred
Essential Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a management plan for assigned residential hall
2. Assist the immediate supervisor in facilitating the residential living program for students including selecting, training, supervising and evaluating staff
3. Conduct staff development and in-service workshops particularly in the areas of community building, policy implementation, emergency procedures and intervention services
4. Manage the physical operation of the building assigned and report problems to the immediate supervisor
5. Establish an environment that fosters academic achievement and personal development
6. Hold regular meetings and document the proceedings for program planning
