What happens when a classroom expands across the globe?

This summer, a group of Southern Miss students and faculty members explored Zambia and Namibia as part of the University's Africa study-abroad program.

From touring mines and studying hydroelectric dams to learning about Zambia's major copper deposits and Namibia's uranium resources, students witnessed energy production, sustainability, and conservation firsthand. Along the way, they interacted with professionals, experienced different approaches to resource management, and gained a new perspective on different cultures.
