The School of Biological, Environmental, and Earth Sciences at the University of Southern Mississippi strives to provide high quality education and advance the body of scientific knowledge through discovery, integration, and application. The undergraduate programs in the School include:

The School has 50 faculty members, most with active research programs. The department houses a well-equipped core facility devoted to molecular biology and imaging. The facility is supported by an NIH-supported MS INBRE program. The department is also home to the Lake Thoreau Environmental Center, a nature preserve close to 300-acres approximately 6 miles west of the Hattiesburg Campus. In addition to environmental research, the environmental center hosts a wide variety of camps and education programs.
