MDOT is actively looking for entry level programmers, and I wanted to touch base with the universities in the state to make some contacts with professors or directors in the computer science departments.
MDOT’s Information Systems Division consists of employees who specialize in areas of application development/maintenance as well as network, database, and server support. MDOT has an IT staff of close to 100 employees working with latest technologies such as Visual Studio .Net (DevExpress), Powerbuilder, Oracle PL/SQL, MS SQL, MS Sharepoint, GIS, VMWARE, and as well as many other technologies. MDOT’s Information Systems supports functional areas for the Office of Administrative Services, Office of Highways, Office of Intermodal and the Office of Enforcement. We are a support division for the entire agency, including all district, project and maintenance offices throughout the state. We offer a great career path, quality of life and benefits to our employees.
We do post our job openings with the career center, but we find it beneficial making connections with professors inside the department to help spread the word. I would greatly appreciate any referrals or recommendations of recent graduates that are currently looking for employment. We would love to make immediate contact with these students and set up interviews. We’ve had great success with your graduates in the past and we would like to continue that trend moving forward. We will also be attending the career fair so please make students aware that we are actively recruiting and encourage them to come by our booth. Thank you so much for your assistance.
