The Frances A.

The Department of Special Education provides preparation programs for professionals serving individuals with exceptionalities. Our graduates not only facilitate educational and social growth, but enjoy a career where creativity and problem-solving skills are used on a daily basis. Our special educators collaborate with other educators to adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects,

such as reading, writing and math, to students with a variety of disabilities, as well as those with gifts and talents. They also provide more intensive learning support outside of the general education classroom to help each child reach his or her potential. There are many specialized career opportunities for special educators including early childhood special educators, inclusive education teachers, gifted educators, transition specialists, and teachers of students with multiple disabilities. We also support several professional development programs for in-service professional development and coaching. Karnes Center for Gifted Education

Big game with great people! Good way to start the new school year.

Come tailgate with us this weekend!!🏈🏟️ We'll have tents set up in Spirit Park! Since the game will be starting at 11:00 on Saturday, we'll kick off our tailgate at 9:30 that morning so we can hang out and have fun!! We can't wait to see you! SMTTT!!💛🖤
