A record nine Fords received NSF Graduate Research Fellowships this year. From new drug delivery systems for those living with arthritis to understanding how plant roots influence carbon storage in mountain soils, their research is as wide-ranging as their backgrounds. But they can all trace it back to the same place: working closely with their faculty mentors during their time at Haverford.

Alumni Weekend is this week! With our students away on summer break, familiar sights are returning to Founders Green as the Alumni Weekend tents go up and alumni and their families come back to campus for time together—on the Green, in the dorms, and across campus.

That's the lesson Kiame Mahaniah '93 took that lesson to heart and built a career around. Today, as Massachusetts' Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kiame fights to make health care more affordable, equitable, and human-focused.
