Our Bridge Program (formerly the CCX/Extended Program) is designed for students who need to complete prerequisite coursework before applying to graduate programs in SLP.

✨ Good news! Two required Bridge Program courses now fulfill ASHA prerequisites:

🧠 SLHS 401: Neuroanatomy & Physiology of Communication
→ Counts toward the ASHA Biological Sciences requirement

👂 SLHS 303: Hearing & Speech Science
→ Counts toward the ASHA Physical Sciences requirement

Jenny Rosenquist has served as the full-time lead clinical supervisor for the Rees Clinic since 2007. She has taught and/or supervised nearly all of the graduate students who have gone through our clinic in the past 19 years, as well as many, many cohorts of undergrads. Jenny also contributed to the department's priorities by serving on various department committees and contributing to decision-making and by leading the SLPA Certificate program since its inception. Jenny has made a huge impact on our department and on many professionals now working in the East Bay. We are grateful for her leadership and valuable collaborations. Happy retirement day, Jenny!

📣 We're Hiring! 📣

The California State University, East Bay Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is seeking a Part-Time Clinical Supervisor to join our on-campus Rees Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic for the Fall semester.

Position Highlights:
📍 Rees Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic (CSU East Bay, Hayward)
🕐 0.5 FTE benefited position
📅 Preferred schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays (especially for adult clients)
Tuesday & Thursday schedule may also be considered.
👥 Opportunity to supervise graduate student clinicians during therapy sessions and, potentially, client evaluations.

Our clinic is highly organized and supported by a Lead Clinical Educator, with a structured weekly calendar to help ensure a smooth supervisory experience.
All supervisor positions require current ASHA certification and CA SLP Licensure. Supervisors must have a minimum of 9 months work experience post CCC and be current CA resident. All positions require an application and completion of a Background Check.

At CSUEB, our students in the SLP and SLPA programs gain hands-on experience supporting individuals with aphasia through clinical and community-based care.
