The Great Golden Pumpkin Hunt Begins Now!
First a few comments... Please be safe! The Golden Pumpkin is in an accessible area to the public. You do not need to do something dangerous or physically demanding to reach the pumpkin. Also, please don't trespass on private property, always get permission. There will be additional clues so follow along! Next clue will be posted Monday Oct. 5th. We expect the hunt to take a couple of weeks, unless you prove us wrong! The boundary for the hunt is the entire Heber Valley. Feel free to comment on posts and collaborate with others. If there are common questions or concerns we'll address them. Watch for another post today with more info on the prize. Now on to the riddle.. Happy Hunting!
Where mighty mountains guard the land,
and the beauty of a valley proudly stands,
with history old, a golden pumpkin’s secrets unfold.
Hidden in shadows, just out of sight,
only the clever can bring it to light.
The main road through town takes you to places around,
an alpine paradise is sure to be found.
Go beyond where rolls the creeping steel,
the way sharp silhouettes reveal.
Two peaks lower than most,
once settled kin now rest as ghosts.
Look up, where rises a pointy spire,
and down, beasts of metal surround what many admire.
From the distance, a barn adds to the charm,
and never far, cows moo during this season of boo.
Patterns in blue and green, just a stone’s throw to the west,
while open fields to the east quietly rest.
When you are up, you are down,
it’s close to being found.
You’ve reached the spot, arrows point where to go,
choose wisely your path, and soon you will know.
