🦷💊🩺 Interprofessional Education in action!

Today, students from our Colleges of Dental Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy came together, alongside Physician Assistant students from Touro University Nevada, for a powerful IPE experience.

Divided into teams, students collaborated across disciplines to work through real-world case studies, learning not just from their professors, but from each other. Their focus was applying the science of teamwork, sharing accountability, and facilitating coordinated care to achieve the best outcomes for patients. 💡

With insights from guest speakers Ms. Amani Wilson, Dr. Farzad Kamyar of the EMPOWERED program, and Dr. Mark Chase from the Professional Recovery Network, students gained perspectives that go far beyond the classroom.

This is what it means to train the next generation of healthcare professionals. Together. 🤝

Happy National Nurses Day — from a nurse's biggest fan. 🩺💙

Gabrie Ann Nakhle is 14 years old and recently completed treatment for leukemia. When Make-A-Wish asked what she wanted — she didn't wish for herself. She wished for future nurses.

On World Wish Day, Gabrie established the G.A.B.R.I.E.N. Pediatric Nursing Scholarship at Roseman University — named in honor of the nurses who cared for her. She helped shape the scholarship herself, and even helped choose its first recipient: Roseman nursing student Rosalia Escalera, set to graduate this June.

The day also marked a milestone for Gabrie — her ceremonial "No More Chemo" bell ringing. 🔔

On a day set aside to honor nurses everywhere, we're reminded why this work matters — and we're grateful to Gabrie for showing us what it looks like to give back from the heart.

"Gabrie's bravery and selflessness embody the very spirit of healthcare." — Dean Brian Oxhorn

🎉 What an incredible evening! Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night's Neighborhood Health Series event: Exploring Roseman's Graduate Studies Programs: the People, the Pathways, the Professions.

Last night's conversation was inspiring, honest, and full of insight. We're so grateful to our amazing panelists who shared their time, expertise, and stories:

👩‍🔬 Faculty

• Dr. Jeffery Talbot, VP of Research, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies — The driving force behind Roseman's graduate mission and the evening's featured presenter.

• Dr. Casey Sayre, Assistant Dean for Research, College of Pharmacy and Program Director, MSPS, College of Graduate Studies — A passionate advocate for research and student success.

🎓 Students & Graduates

• Melika Cummings, MBS Class of 2026 — A current MBS student with a background in emergency medicine and genetic bioinformatics research. Melika's interests span oncology, biomarkers, drug development, and the application of AI in medicine. She will be joining the second cohort in Roseman's College of Medicine, with aspirations in Ob/Gyn or Maternal and Fetal Medicine.

• Joshua Axtell, MSPS Class of 2027 — A current MSPS student whose work bridges regenerative medicine, cancer cell biology, and computational bioinformatics. Joshua brings real-world experience in regenerative medicine to his research.

• Ariana Fagaragan, MBS Class of 2025 | DMD Class of 2029 — A graduate of our MBS program who is now enrolled in Roseman's Doctor of Dental Medicine program. Ariana's research explores the psychosocial experiences of individuals with cleft lip and palate — a beautiful example of how an MBS can launch the next chapter.

💛 A special thank you to our moderator, Vanessa Maniago, Vice President for Strategic Implementation and Engagement, for guiding such a thoughtful and engaging conversation. Vanessa's warmth and leadership made the evening truly shine.

The Neighborhood Health Series brings our community together every month around topics that matter — and this one was truly special. 💙 Stay tuned, because our next Neighborhood Health Series event is coming in May — you won't want to miss it!

Fast feet. Big finish. Roadrunner spirit. 🏃‍♂️

Today, Drew Ehlert, Director of Grants Administration, took on the legendary Boston Marathon—and crushed it with an incredible 3:15 finish.

That’s dedication. That’s endurance. That’s what it means to be a Roadrunner.

From supporting research behind the scenes to powering through 26.2 miles, Drew shows what’s possible when preparation meets purpose.

Join us in celebrating this amazing accomplishment! 👏
