✨Staff Spotlight✨ Meet part-time clinical supervisor Jocelyn Arias!

Jocelyn is a first-generation Latina, born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2021 and then Master’s of Education in Speech and Language Pathology from Nevada State University in 2023. 🦂

Currently she works with the adult population in an outpatient and inpatient setting focusing on stroke recovery, neuro-rehabilitation, dysphagia management, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The services provided aim to ensure adequate safety and independence, as well as, maximizing quality of life and reintegration through client-centered care.

Alongside her clinical practice, Jocelyn serves as a clinical educator, supervising and mentoring graduate students providing both bilingual and feeding therapy services at the RiteCare Clinic. She strives to maintain clients’ linguistic identities by guiding graduate students to reducing barriers to care while providing culturally and linguistically responsive services. 👏

In her free time, Jocelyn enjoys reading, cooking great food, traveling to other countries, working on puzzles, going to concerts, and cuddling with her dog. 🧩📖🐶

Our Speech-Language Pathology program was proud to be at the Connected Care Conference, which brought together Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), and Speech-Language Pathology professionals to explore the power of interprofessional collaboration in healthcare. 👏

SLP faculty members and recent graduate Karin Bolster attended and presented at the conference, sharing their knowledge and engaging in meaningful discussions with colleagues across disciplines.

We are proud of their contributions and their commitment to advancing collaborative practice in rehabilitation and healthcare!
