What Librarianship Looks Like Today! 🙂

Sometimes learning the library means more than shelving books—it means navigating digital resources, solving puzzles, and having a little fun along the way!

CVCC Work-Based Learning student Jessie Shell is getting to know our online catalog through a fun scavenger hunt designed to build her library and research skills.

We are incredibly grateful to have Jessie join us in the Library this fall semester! We look forward to helping her develop new skills, gain valuable work experience, and discover just how many adventures can begin with a library catalog.

Welcome to the Library, Jessie! We’re so glad you’re here!

What Librarianship Looks Like Today 🙂

Meet Redgie, CVCC’s newest Red Hawk!

Earlier this month, Redgie stopped by the library to introduce himself and help inspire us as we welcomed our students back to campus for the Fall 2026 semester. And let’s just say—he made quite the impression!

We already knew Learning Support Assistant Noah Clarke and CCR Administrative Assistant Iryna Baker brought plenty of positivity and enthusiasm to our campus, but somehow, Redgie managed to turn the energy up another notch! There’s just something about a Red Hawk that makes welcoming our students even more fun.

Welcome to CVCC, Redgie! We’re so glad you stopped by—and we have a feeling we’ll be seeing plenty more of you around campus!

What Librarianship Looks Like Today 🙂

Even in the whirlwind of the first week of the Fall 2026 semester, CVCC Associate Dean of S.O.A.R. Commons Dr. Staci Wilson and Outreach & Instruction Librarian Anita McRary managed to hold on to their sense of play—or perhaps they were just barely holding on!

Either way, we’re grateful for the energy, enthusiasm, and passion for learning they bring to the S.O.A.R. Commons every day. Because sometimes, a little laughter and playfulness are exactly what we need to make it through the semester!

Here’s to a wonderful Fall 2026 semester! We’re ready for the adventure!

What Librarianship Looks Like Today 🙂

CVCC Library Student Workers Briannah French, Jessie Shell, and Fennily Harrison took a few minutes earlier today to enjoy a little crafting and creativity.

There’s always plenty of work to be done in the Library, but we believe there should also be room for a little fun! Having extra helping hands allows us to do more for our patrons—from supporting their academic success to creating opportunities for creativity, connection, and, yes, a little playfulness along the way.

Many thanks to Briannah, Jessie, and Fennily for sharing their professionalism, creativity, and collegiality with us. We’re grateful to have you on the Library team—and we’re pretty sure the crafting supplies are grateful, too!

What Librarianship Looks Like Today 🙂

In her beautiful blue dress and stylish glasses, CVCC Library Volunteer Karla Illanes is ready to seize the day!

We are incredibly grateful to have Karla as part of our library team. Her dedication, helpful spirit, and attention to detail help keep things running like a well-oiled machine—and she makes it all look effortlessly professional while she’s at it!

Thank you, Karla, for all you do to help make the CVCC Library a welcoming, organized, and wonderful place to be! We’re so glad you’re part of our team!
