What Librarianship Looks Like Today 🙂

CVCC Learning Support Assistant Noah Clarke spends much of his day answering phone calls, connecting people with the information they need, and helping them find the right person or department. While many of the calls are library-related, others come from individuals seeking assistance from across campus and simply aren't sure where to begin.

Noah's friendly demeanor, patience, and willingness to help ensure that every caller feels welcomed and supported. We are grateful for the positive first impression he provides and for the care he shows to everyone who reaches out to our campus. Thank you, Noah, for making a difference every day!

In recognition of America's 250th birthday, here at the library we are sending out a video every month sharing various facts to commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. CVCC WorkKeys Instructor Gary Towery is the speaker for June's video! "The journey toward this historic milestone is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our nation’s past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and look ahead toward the future we want to create for the next generation and beyond"

What Librarianship Looks Like Today 🙂

CVCC Outreach and Instruction Librarian Anita McRary took a few minutes this afternoon to join Department Chair of Academic Foundations and Adult Education Krysten Buchanan for an ice cream celebration recognizing the outstanding results of the recent ICR review.

During yesterday's CE1 ICR review, CCR achieved exceptional accuracy. Every class folder contained the required documentation, including signed attendance sheets, final grades, contracts, and supporting records, all of which were complete, accurate, and properly accounted for.

Congratulations to Krysten Buchanan and the entire Academic Foundations and Adult Education team for their diligence, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. Their hard work continues to support student success and reflects the high standards of our institution.

CVCC Outreach and Instruction Librarian Anita McRary spent part of the morning preparing the Civic Season display case in the foyer outside the library.

The 15 days between Juneteenth and Independence Day are recognized as Civic Season. Positioned between our nation’s newest and oldest federal holidays, Civic Season invites us to learn more about our communities, reflect on our shared history, and engage in meaningful civic participation.

We invite students, employees, and community members to explore these resources and join us in celebrating Civic Season through learning, reflection, and engagement.
