The Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures offers majors and minors in French and Francophone Studies and Spanish and minors in Chinese and Italian Studies. The department also offers the business language courses in Chinese, French, Spanish, and Italian needed for completion of the major in international business. Additionally, the department offers foreign language courses to co

mplement the major in International Relations and the Spanish courses needed for the minor in Latin American Studies. The department also offers the core of Spanish courses needed for K-12 certification.

Students from SPN 2141: Spanish for the Medical Professions visited the HPU Pro Bono Physical Therapy Clinic on Monday, November 3rd. They learned about the wonderful work the clinic does in support of our local community, including the Spanish-speaking patient population. Dr. Christopher Zoch and Ms. Daniella Avalos hosted the class for a tour of the facility and taught them about the many services the clinic provides to patients.

They are addressing important issues such as deforestation, pollution, loss of biodiversity, water scarcity, overconsumption of natural resources, air quality, and ocean threats while combining creativity, collaboration, and Spanish skills to raise awareness.
