The purpose of the Office of the Undergraduate Research & Creative Works is to encourage, facilitate, and promote students doing research or creative works one on one with a facility member. Conducting independent research, or producing an original creative work, as an undergraduate student, under the mentorship of a faculty member can give you an edge when looking to apply for graduate school and
/or a good job. The process of producing something unique not only furthers one's skills in a specific field but helps a student build skills such as leadership, problem solving, self-confidence, public speaking, and independence, which are valuable in any field. Engaging in creative or scholarly work with a faculty mentor prepares students for a competitive future!
