The Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Philosophy at NKU is
composed of three programs that examine the human condition. Each
program offers a bachelor's degree and one or more minor in these
three unique fields of study:

Sociology focuses on the scientific study of human society and social relations. Anthropology studies both past and present people's material remains (archaeological anth

ropology), biology (biological/physical anthropology), culture (cultural anthropology), and language (linguistic anthropology). Philosophy explores the values and beliefs that affect human conduct and examines the fundamental questions about our existence.

It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden passing of Jack Kleier. His mother, Bev Richardson, is facing both immense grief and financial challenges. OUR NKU ETHICS BOWL TEAM PLACED SECOND AND GOING NATIONALS!!!
I am excited to share this fantastic news. Our NKU Ethics Bowl team came in 2nd place in the Midwest regionals this past weekend; they are going to Nationals! This is historic and phenomenal--our first time ever to make it to Nationals. Our amazing team included: Declan Edwards, Brexton Cromer, Allison Longnecker, Alan Simpson, Logan Jenkins, Ben Lloyd, Randy Harris, Kendal Hall. Congratulations! You make NKU and our SAP department very proud. A big thank you and congratulations also to our fantastic coach, Dr. Robert Brice, for leading the team to this phenomenal achievement.
