Our School of Media and Communication and School of Computing and Analytics held their welcome receptions this week, offering students the opportunity to meet the people who will become an integral part of their college experience.

SMC students got to know faculty through a fun fact bingo sheet, while SCA students made connections through speed mentoring rotations.

A pretty solid way to start the semester if you ask us! 🥳

Congratulations to Sean Cancel, a senior double majoring in Cybersecurity and Computer Information Technology, on being selected for NASA’s L’SPACE Proposal Writing and Evaluation Experience (NPWEE) Academy for the Fall 2026 cohort! 🪐🚀

Throughout this 12-week program, Sean will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to identify NASA technology needs, develop innovative solutions, and learn how to create competitive proposals aligned with NASA mission needs. This gives him an opportunity to put his IT and cybersecurity problem-solving skills to work by solving complex challenges in the aerospace industry.

After recently completing a summer internship as a Project Analyst Intern at GE Aerospace, Sean is heading into his senior year with an exciting new experience on the horizon.

When he isn’t in the classroom, he serves as Vice President of NKU’s National Collegiate Dodgeball Association (NCDA) club.

Congratulations again, Sean!
