Meet the Young Entrepreneurs of the JC Jump Market!

Jefferson College is excited to partner with Main & Mill for the JC Jump Market: A Kids Craft & Business Fair on Saturday, October 10 from 2–7 p.m. on Festus Main Street!

In the days leading up to the event, we’ll be introducing you to some of the creative young entrepreneurs who will be setting up shop. They’ve been busy making, planning, creating, and learning what it takes to turn an idea into a business!

And we’re kicking off highlighting some of the entrepreneurs….

First up: Hayden of Painted Pavers! Hayden turns ordinary pavers into hand-painted art inspired by books, music, and more. Take a look at these creative pieces, then stop by to see what Hayden brings to the market.
Stop by to encourage a young entrepreneur and see just how much creativity Jefferson County’s young makers have to offer. Expect everything from handmade art, crochet, and jewelry to sensory creations, 3D work, rocks, accessories, and plenty of surprises.

🛍️ Come shop small - really small!

Meet !
This little boat may look like a fun desk decoration, but it was actually designed to put a 3D printer to the test. Benchy includes a variety of challenging shapes, curves, overhangs, surfaces, and small details that can help show how accurately a printer is working.
Think of it as a tiny 3D-printing stress test. If something isn’t quite right with the printer, Benchy can help make it visible.
It’s a simple and pretty adorable example of the testing, troubleshooting, precision, and problem-solving involved in additive manufacturing.
And after all that work, you still get a tiny tugboat. 🚤
And you can make a cat the captain!
Our Industrial Maintenance series works with our 3D printers in WES, and we are currently developing a 3D printing course for the future. Let us know if you're interested.

Did you know? We're getting a closet? Under the stairs? It's very cool. In the meantime, please avoid the stairwell going between the main and lower level in CTE.

You can still come see us though for career advice, a piece of candy or to hear Jessie talk about how much she is going to miss that retro orange trim and the little seat that stuck out there. It was a cool hangout spot when she was a student way back in 2004.

Like we said. Candy. Don't use the stairs. Closet coming soon!

POV: You stop by the Career Closet for “just one thing” and leave ready to update LinkedIn. 🦎✨

Our unexpected visitor clearly understood the assignment: come for the professional attire, leave with the glow up.

The Career Closet is here for interviews, career fairs, presentations, new jobs… and apparently reptiles with big career goals.

No word yet on whether he got the job. We’re feeling optimistic.

The Career Closet is available to students and alumni and is open during regular business hours.

Scale up your style with the Career Closet.

Last Tuesday, as we kicked off a new Industrial Maintenance course, we also celebrated an exciting first!

Congratulations to Chris and Thomas, the first students to complete all three courses in Jefferson College’s Industrial Maintenance Series! Their hard work, leadership, and commitment have made them outstanding students, and they are now eligible for the MSSC CPT 4.0 certification.

A huge thank-you to our instructors, Guy and Rich, who are excellent instructors, mentors, and constant sources of innovation for our program.

Chris and Thomas are also apprentices through MoSEPWork, supported through the partnership between Jefferson College and their employer, MetalTek. We appreciate everyone at both organizations who helps make opportunities like this possible!
Jefferson College’s Workforce & Employment Services team is proud to coordinate the Industrial Maintenance Series, from building and scheduling courses to enrollment, student support, and employer partnerships.

Chris and Thomas may be the first to reach this milestone, but we can’t wait to celebrate those who follow!
Congratulations, Chris and Thomas!

Still time to enroll.
