HIM STUDENTS CLEAR NATIONAL EXAMINATION AS ACADEMIC MANAGEMENT MEETING HOLDS AT LALA COLLEGE

Gusau, Zamfara State | October 19, 2026

The Academic Management Meeting of Lala College of Health Science and Technology (LCHST), Gusau, was held today, with a major highlight being the successful clearance of Health Information Management (HIM) students following their just-concluded National Examination.

The achievement reflects the commitment of the head of department under the leadership of Mal. Nasir Dantoro, to academic excellence, effective administration, and the continuous improvement of students' professional competence.

The meeting was attended by Ahmad Lawal Lala, who joined other academic management members to deliberate on issues relating to the academic progress, institutional development, and overall performance of the college.

The successful clearance of the HIM students marks an important milestone for the institution and demonstrates the collective efforts of the management, lecturers, and students in upholding academic standards and preparing competent professionals for the health sector.

The college management congratulates the HIM students on this achievement and appreciates all staff members who contributed to their preparation and success in the national examination.

ZANNA CUP: LALA COLLEGE PARTICIPATES IN INTER-TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS FOOTBALL COMPETITION

Lala College of Health Science and Technology, Gusau, has participated in the ongoing Zanna Cup Inter-Tertiary Institutions Competition, organized by the Sports Director of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone A, Comr. Aminu Ashiru Yahaya.

In an exciting encounter, Lala College faced Huda University, Gusau, in a match that ended 1–0 in favour of Huda University, with Lala College narrowly losing despite a spirited performance.
Beyond the match result, the encounter provided an opportunity for students from different tertiary institutions to come together, interact, and strengthen the bonds of friendship, unity, and mutual understanding.

The competition continues to demonstrate the power of sports in bringing young people together, promoting healthy relationships, encouraging sportsmanship, and fostering love, peace, and progress among students.

Lala College remains committed to continue supporting initiatives that promote students' participation in sports, talent development, unity, and the overall growth of the tertiary education community.

LCHST CONCLUDES TWO-DAY END-OF-SESSION STAFF DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

The Lala College of Health Science and Technology (LCHST), Gusau, has successfully concluded its two-day End-of-Session Staff Development Workshop, with two facilitators delivering presentations on the second and final day of the programme.

A major highlight of the day was the virtual remarks delivered by the Chairman, Board of Trustees and General Manager, Engr. Usman Lawali Lala, who joined the workshop from the Federal Republic of Germany.

In his remarks, Engr. Lala expressed his appreciation to the college management, academic and non-academic staff, and lecturers for their dedications, commitment, and collective efforts towards the growth and development of the college. He particularly commended the Registrar, Mal. Aminu Sidi and the Director of Media and Publicity, Mahmud A Lawal for their outstanding commitment for bringing and introducing many innovations and supporting the ongoing transformation in the college.

He emphasized the importance of continuous staff development, capacity building, and institutional innovation as essential tools for maintaining high academic standards, promoting professionalism, and achieving excellence in teaching, learning, and service delivery.

Our today's facilitators; Babangida Halliru PhD in-view, HIM, and MLS Isah Yahaya Arudi, the workshop provide an opportunity for staff members to continue strengthening their professional capacities, exchange ideas, and renew their commitment to the institution's vision of academic excellence and effective service delivery.

The programme concluded with the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to the facilitators in recognition of their valuable contributions, alongside Certificates of Participation to attendees. The event ended with a group photography session and networking among participants, marking a successful conclusion to the two-day capacity-building exercise.

The college management reaffirmed its commitment to continuous professional development, institutional effectiveness, and the promotion of a culture of excellence across all departments.

DAY 1 OF THE END-OF-SESSION STAFF DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP ENDS SUCCESSFULLY AT LALA COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, GUSAU.

The Day One session of the End-of-Session Staff Development Workshop at Lala College of Health Science and Technology (LCHST), Gusau, was successfully held, with the participation of the College Management, academic and non-academic staff, permanent staff, tutors, security personnel, and students.

The workshop featured three facilitators, Dr. Aminu Muhammad Lawal, from Federal University Gusau, Dr. Murtala Muhammad Jangebe, from College of Health Science and Technology, Tsafe and Hon. Comrade Umar Mahmud Umar,(Maina Damba), Founder/CEO Lead Facilitator, Career and Literacy Consult, and Technical Aids, office of the Chief of Staff, Government House, Zamfara State, who delivered insightful presentations aimed at strengthening staff capacity, promoting professional development, and preparing the College community for the forthcoming academic session.

In his welcome address, the Registrar, Mal. Aminu Sidi, emphasized the importance and objectives of the workshop, urged all participants to actively engage in the sessions. He noted that the workshop was designed to enhance individual and institutional capacity while promoting academic excellence, professionalism, and effective service delivery in the new academic session.

As part of the workshop, a Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Hon. Umar Mahmud Umar in recognition of his contribution as one of the lead facilitators.

In his closing remarks, the Provost, Alh. Usman Ambaya Zurmi expressed appreciation to the resource persons for their valuable contributions, insightful presentations, and wealth of knowledge shared with participants. He highlighted the importance of the topics discussed, including team building, resilience, conflict resolution and management, effective communication, and teamwork, emphasizing their relevance to institutional growth, workplace harmony, and improved performance.

The Ag. Executive Director and College Manager, Mal. Ibrahim Lawal Lala (Khalil), pass his good message by appreciating the lead Facilitators, participants and also organizing committee of the workshop.

The Secretary of the Workshop Committee, Mahmud A. Lawal, who also the Director, Media and Publicity of the College, delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the facilitators, the College Management, and all participants for their commitment and active involvement throughout the activities.

He further announced that the workshop continues tomorrow, 13 October 2026, with the second and final day of the End-of-Session Staff Development Workshop.

The workshop remains an important step towards strengthening institutional effectiveness, fostering collaboration, and promoting a culture of academic excellence and professionalism at Lala College of Health Science and Technology, Gusau.
