We are excited to share a few photos from the recent ACG Cup Competition. Continuing a long tradition of strong finishes in this rigorous finance competition, ALL THREE of the Hope College teams placed in the top 8 with one team finishing as the runner-up. A record-breaking 39 teams from a variety of colleges and universities participated in the competition this year, providing a remarkable opportunity for our students to put their knowledge and skills to the test in front of a panel of finance professionals.

One of our competitors, Thomas DeVries, reflected on the challenge saying: "ACG provides an incredible opportunity to network, expand one's financial skillset, and gain real-world experience. I’d argue that the competition played a major role in securing both my investment banking internship and my now full-time role. In addition, I’ve built strong relationships with my teammates that I look forward to continuing in the future."

Join us in congratulating Michael Stechschulte, Daniel Ferrier, Alyson Kelly, Keegan McNamara, Mark Morris, Kyle Sytsema, Tyler Van Grinsven, Peter Standaert, Thomas DeVries, Benjamin Bush, Wyatt Schindeldecker and Jack Guerrera on a job well done!

As we are in the final stretch of classes, we are celebrating one of many memorable highlights from this semester: our recent trip to the headquarters for Chick-fil-A in Atlanta, Georgia.

In November, over 30 students from the Business Club had the incredible opportunity to visit the hub for one of the nation's largest fast food restaurant chains. From its leadership and culture to its hospitality and operations, students enjoyed a first-hand look at how the company's Christian mission and values are integrated into every aspect of its service model. For freshmen and sophomores just beginning the vocational discernment journey, the experience was an inspiring way to think about how calling and values can be lived out through work.

And of course our visit included a visit to the famous red couch as seen in the company's commercials!

Congratulations to our 2024 Launch students who have spent their first semester on campus exploring Economics & Business at Hope.

Throughout the course of the program, these students have participated in a professional-development workshop on storytelling, visited Wolverine Worldwide for a first-hand look at business in action, and took a deep dive into different industries (and competitive advantages for firms within those industries). Last week, each team shared the culmination of their work with a presentation to faculty.

For students just starting the college journey, the exposure and experiences gained as part of the program are invaluable for the discernment and exploration process.

Congratulations to our two student teams who participated in the Risk Management Association Commercial Lending Competition this weekend! Once again this year, we are excited to share that BOTH teams placed in the top five.

Continuing Hope's strong tradition in this competition, these students competed against finance students from a range of colleges and universities as they presented recommendations around a lending scenario to a panel of judges (all professionals in the banking industry). Not only do our students walk away with top honors from this weekend's event, but also valuable industry connections and a cash prize.

This year, Hope College Economics & Business is celebrating the golden anniversary of its London May Term program. For 50 years, the program has equipped hundreds of students as they engaged the world, explored British culture and business, built relationships, and thought deeply about faith and calling.

If you are an alumni of the program, we'd love to hear from you! As part of our celebration of the program, we are looking to compile a list of alumni who participated over the years. link.hope.edu/londonalumni
