Today the philosophy department will host Mr. Griffin Klemick who is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto. His talk is titled “Perceptual Justification and the Demands of Effective Agency." About it, he notes: Wilfrid Sellars once said: "It is reasonable to accept [that our perceptual] judgments are likely to be true, simply on the ground that unless they are likely to be true, the concept of effective agency has no application." This talk will explore whether Sellars is correct. Please consider joining us for this presentation this Wednesday, March 30th at 5pm in the Schaap Science Center 1019.

Our last of the semester is a goodbye to our president, Ethan Henry. Ethan is currently a junior studying philosophy and classics and will be studying abroad in Rome next semester. He enjoys philosophy because it gives him an outlet to remove the veil from the world and question “what this is all about”. In philosophy club, he has enjoyed the informal nature of the meetings. The meetings consist of a collection of people joining together who discuss the questions that you might otherwise only think about in the shower. The question Ethan wants to pose to others is, “What intrigues us SO much about dreams?” We’ll miss you, Ethan!

Today’s is Andrew Silagi! He is a sophomore studying secondary English education. Andrew loves discussing the central questions of life and is glad to have the opportunity to be a part of philosophy club despite not having room for a Philosophy major or minor. The
philosophical question he wants to pose to others is, “What is true progress and how do we avoid chasing an impossible ideal?”
