PEPS faculty and students attended the Plant Health Conference organized by American Phytopathological Society from August 1–4, 2026, in Providence, Rhode Island.

We are so proud of Jordie Ho as she won the 2nd Place in APS Student Elevator Pitch presentation for her exciting work on "Comparative Genomics and Morphological Analysis of Mites that Potentially Vector Emerging Plant Viruses in Hawai'i."

It is also a great time to meet PEPS graduates like Lily Buchholz (now Plant Medicine Student at University of Nebraska) and Philip Waisen (now Small Crop Advisor at UC A&R) at the meeting.

TAE students and faculty get together at the end of the semester for a TAE Pauhana event at the Magoon Teaching facilities, turning the garden harvest from Magoon teaching plots into shelf stable pickles! What a fun way to celebrate harvest, graduation, and student incoming while learning how to make pickles!
