🎉Huge Congratulations to Kumu Tammy Kahalaopuna Kahoʻolemana Martin on her promotion to Associate Professor! 🌺

Kumu Martin's vital research centers on Native Hawaiian resiliency, post-traumatic growth, and culturally grounded healing—particularly for formerly incarcerated women and youth. Driven by a profound kuleana to her kupuna and ʻohana, Kumu Martin brings over two decades of grassroots experience as a practitioner, trainer, housing support specialist, and community advocate into her academic leadership.

Mahalo, Kumu Martin, for your unwavering advocacy, cultural grounding, and leadership. We are so fortunate to learn from and work alongside you! 🎓✨

Aloha nui a kākou! 🌺
Please join us in wishing a very happy retirement to Lisa, our Director of Field Education for the School of Social Work, who officially stepped down on June 30 after nearly five wonderful years of service!

Lisa has been the heart of our field education, building deep pilina (relationships) across our communities. While we will miss her leadership dearly, she isn't going far—Lisa will remain here in Hawaiʻi, staying active in volunteer work and community projects.

Mahalo nui, Lisa, for your incredible dedication and leadership!
We wish Lisa the best on her next adventure.
