The UH Mānoa Department of Public Safety provides year-round protection and security for the UH Mānoa community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. DPS provides the following services:

- Incident Management: response & investigation
- Victim/survivor assistance
- Emergency alerts & timely warnings
- Emergency preparedness & management
- Educational outreach: events, programs, and presentations

Campus Safety Escort Service (see below for more information)
- Facility lockup and unlock
- Active shooter response training
- Reporting according to federal laws (Jeanne Clery Act, VAWA, Campus SaVE, Title IX)
- Special event services

The Campus Safety Escort Service is available to any student, faculty, or staff member every evening from dusk until dawn. Call us at (808) 956-SAFE (7233) to request your safety escort. To request a Safety Presentation for your class, club, or group, send a short description of your event, along with the date and time requested, to [email protected]. MOPED SAFETY 101

Course Description:
An ongoing, real-life class covering helmet compliance, Hawaiʻi moped law, and theft prevention.

Core Requirements:
•Wear a helmet (required by Hawaiʻi law)
•Know and follow the rules
•Lock your moped properly — every time
•Park in designated areas only

Learning Outcomes:
• Protect the brain you’re paying tuition for
• Avoid citations
• Reduce your risk of theft
• Get home safely

The good news?
You can take MOPED SAFETY 101 as many times as you need to.

Review it before every ride.
Class dismissed.

Motor Vehicle Theft at JABSOM

On Sunday, January 4, 2026 between 4:23 a.m. and 4:35 a.m., a white University of Hawai’i Ford E350, 15 passenger type van, was stolen from parking Lot B of the John A. Burns School of Medicine. The van has a green state seal on the driver and passenger side doors and bears license plate SHF209.

Please notify the UH Mānoa Department of Public Safety (DPS) at (808) 956-6911 or the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) at 911 if you have any information regarding this incident.
