Eia Hawaiʻinuiākea — e kipa mai!

Here's a look back at some of the moments from last year's Eia Hawaiʻinuiākea.

More than an Open House, this is an opportunity to come together — to meet our faculty, staff and students, learn more about Hawaiʻinuiākea, connect with resources and opportunities, and spend time with our community.

This year, we're opening the doors of Hālau o Haumea once again and inviting our haumāna, alumni, prospective students, ʻohana, friends and community to join us.

Friday, September 25
3:30–8:00 PM
Hālau o Haumea

Come early to meet our departments and visit the Student Resource Fair, then stay for our alumni panel, oli, mea ʻai and mele.

Hawaiian History Month brings history to life

From walking in the footsteps of Queen Liliʻuokalani to stepping inside dramatic moments surrounding the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom, communities across Hawaiʻi and beyond are invited to experience history in new ways during Hawaiian History Month 2026.

The month-long celebration features mele (songs), moʻolelo (stories), living-history performances, cultural experiences and community gatherings throughout September. The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge and Hawaiʻi Ponoʻī Coalition are among the sponsors of the annual commemoration, which is centered around the September 2 birthday of Queen Liliʻuokalani, Hawaiʻi’s last reigning monarch.
