SPAM: Student Parents At Manoa Are you a student parent at UH Mānoa? Help support University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa students and their keiki by spreading the word about SP@M!

Student Parents at Mānoa (SP@M) serves University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa student parents, providing resources such as peer mentoring, Aloha Friday lunches, and educational workshops. The program welcomes student parents of all genders and opens the door to all that the UH campus and Honolulu community have to offer. SP@M is here to support student parents as they pursue their degrees in higher education, providing a space to connect and discuss concerns and issues while navigating the dual role of students and parents. UHM students, as well as student parents from other colleges and universities, are welcome to join in the conversation through our page.

University of Hawaiʻi researchers are recruiting for a four-week study examining poi during pregnancy. Contact the study team to ask about eligibility and participation.
You may qualify if you: are at least 18; are 10–22 weeks pregnant; live in the Koʻolau region from Waimānalo to Waimea; have no pre-existing health conditions; own a smartphone; and can read and write English.
Study activities: receive 1 lb of poi daily for four weeks, complete questionnaires, and provide self-collected vaginal swabs. Participants may receive up to $385 for their time and participation.

‘Ike Hawal’i and utilizing our skills in kilo of our night sky!
Using na hokü in the Manaiakalani Starline; their stories, names, and mechanics; we will learn how to determine our latitude on the honua. E naue mai e nã hoa a e lu’u i ka ‘ike ho’okele.
